![]() The push on Khan al-Assal, a village on the southwestern outskirts of the embattled city of Aleppo, comes more than a week after it was captured by the rebels. Other images show Asma sitting on the edges of hospital beds and tenderly touching the faces of children. Several images show Assad smiling and waving to crowds of friendly-looking admirers. Nearly 4,900 users are following the account. The Instagram account so far includes 72 photos, most of which appear to be the same posed and polished images released by the government. In fact, the photos show the dictator and his wife receiving unanimous support from an adoring Syrian public.
